Every Wednesday at Notebookism we open a "Blank Page" - your chance to ask,
answer and discuss anything notebook-related. Keep it nice, keep it
relevant.
Blank Page, an Open Thread.

I have to laugh at me sometimes. I just noticed this morning, when my head got turned by yet "another" possible, perfect notebook/journal/daily companion idea--- There Aren't Any.
I have so many different types and styles laying around, and I keep buying more, as if all those past purchases weren't good ones. I also tend to then have guilt around having wasted money. But ya know what? They were all good purchases. The honest truth is, I use almost all of them. Not everyday, some even rarely, but I end up putting all of them to use. Mood often has something to do with it, but more often than not, circumstance is a big influence. Sometimes I know where I'm going won't allow for carrying anything bulky, so I downsize and write small. Other times I don't feel like being constricted and I know I'm going to want a big page to "stretch out" on and I take that big journal along and make allowances for it.
I'm so critical of myself, at times, but it turns out, I really am a genius and I bought myself all the right tools. I appreciate the choices I've allowed, and I find that scattering them about in various rooms and cars and satchels really enables me to write more. The one that comes in handy at any given moment, is the perfect notebook at the time. I'm so good, I'm scary!
