i made this blank journal a month ago, using black leather, i think its cow. backed with handmade paper, 80 sheets of thick beige paper (150 gsm paper) i handstitched the edges of the journal. the book block is hand-sewn to the spine and is a modification of Keith smith's template on his book Quick Leather Bindings. I found this nice tooth (a carabao i think, but im not too sure) in a fashion accessories store here in Cebu, and i decided to have it as my enclosure. =) my husband helped me glue this tooth up to a piece of cream hemp...all my journals are one of a kind and unique... mainly because i try to experiment on diff combinations, accents that are normally not what you would imagine as something you could put in a journal. some of these components are fashion accessories, or bag accessories etc...
ill soon be sending this and a few more leather journals (some of them have dream catchers, pig's tooth, Inca inspired deco's at the cover) to my mom who is in the US and put it up on ebay or etsy. You can imagine how expensive the mailing would be if it came from the Philippines, and how the postal can sometimes lose or damage the item along the way...
