They look like little notebooks. I can make out the titles on three of the four sketchpets in the picture - one's for notes, another's a travel diary and the third's an address book.
If you go to the link you posted and click on the image, it shows you another image where the hole on the SketchPet and hold a pen or be used as a thing to hang the notebook from.
Honestly, I think it's just a notebook of sorts with a different design. The band holds it together and can swivel around (with the hole being the anchor point) so that you can open the notebook.
hi. these are like little notesheets bound together by an eyelet / rivet -like thing. it opens like one of the oriental folding fans (think peacock tails). an old concept, but made fancier.
"The SketchPet is an interesting notebook design from MaginWulf that is small enough to put on a keyring or keep in a pocket. If you like to leave the digital behind every now and then to record ideas and notes on paper, then maybe this is for you. They can include up to 150 pages, and the website shows pictures of diaries as well as notebooks. Of course, if you can fit a day of social life on a page this small, then you need to get out more."
I'll bet, if you wanted to, you could take each of the smaller notebooks off and reattach them in a different order. Like, just carry the address book sometimes, or maybe then you could "snap on" the travel diary. This may be wishful thinking.
I think these are small pats of paper and the colored thingie works as a paperclip to hold them shut.
*waits for brownie points*

They're little notebooks.
On one of the links, they're in English and say "notes," etc.
Cute...

they really do look good, I have a slightly less sophisticated version of that, consist of rough paper and a key ring:)
