Our friend Chris Meisenzahl has posted a quick review of Field Notes:
"...I also like the sense of humor these guys have, the inside front and back covers are worth a chuckle or two.
The inside front cover states: "Hence, there is/isn't a handsome reward waiting." With appropriate check boxes.
The inside back cover lists many ways in which the Field Notes notebooks can be used, including:
* Inspired Ramblings
* Shoddy Sketches
* Half-Ass Calculations (maybe should be 'Half-Assed'?)
* Hate Mail
* Escape Routes
* Illegible Autographs
* Shady Transactions
* Treasure Maps
And several more good ones. ;-)
The Field Notes blog and Vintage Memo Book Archive are worth checking out too.
In short, grab a few of these, they're affordable, solid (3 staples), take fountain pen ink well, and can easily slip into a shirt, jacket, or jeans back pocket..."

I'm amused by that ancient looking pen.
