My question is what is the ultimate portable pencil sharpener. I really need a good sharpener for colored pencils.

Want to know if anyone knows about the linkable notebooks at www.starthereny.com
I just ordered some after reading all about them on other blogs.
Very clever concept since they hook together to make multi-subject or larger books.

There are some really cool handmade "linkable" journals that are thinner but larger in size at etsy:

I had a really expensive pencil sharpener bought at an art supply store and it didn't work very well, then I got another little plastic job for a dollar and it's never let me down yet!

I wonder if Grannykass will see this: I hope you aren't still pissed at me about anything I may or may not have said unintentionally about whether or not someone should or should not bang her boyfriend. I wrote you what I thought was a rather heart felt apology. SMB

Sophie, Yes, I see it! I thought I answered you email and accepted your appology. If I didn't I appologize.
Life has been a little crazy here of late. I bought the copyrights to a publication called Fountain Pen Inks - A Sampler (www.inksampler.com) and trying to get everything going with the book has kept me quite busy.
Plus, if you take a look at my Flickr sight you will see photo's of my almost two week old grand-daughter.
Oddly enough I am featured on the Rhodia Drive website today.
Kim Nixon, you ask about a good portable pencil sharpener. . . I will recommend Faber-Castel's Perfect Pencil with built in sharpener. Now you will mostly find this item in the $225.00 range, but if you look around there is also an inexpensive model make out of plastic instead of sterling silver. I feel it is about the best in sharpeners and size for carrying around as it is part of the protective cap over a pencil and also acts as an extender. I think you might like it, too.
Happy Weekend,
GrannyKass

I saw the baby--that's what made me think of it. For some reason I like pictures of peoples' desks. J.K. Rowling had a website that was like cartoon drawings of things on her desk and I really liked that.
Are you aware that Pilot FriXion pens actually erase the ink beautifully? I was surprised by that one, didn't think erasable pens would ever work. Blew me away.
