26 Years, 85 Notebooks

A beautiful remembrance of a batch of notebooks by Michael Beirut at Design Obserbver:

"On August 12, 1982, I took a 10 x 7 1/8 inch National Blank Book Company composition book from the supply closet of my then employer, Vignelli Associates. From that moment, I have never been without one. I always have one at my desk. I take one with me to every meeting. I am now in the middle of Notebook #85. It's in front of me right now. Together, these well-worn books create a history of my working life that spans three decades..."

Bombus made this gorgeous atlas notebook in England. Sadly (for us) sold out but the inspiration lingers:

This A5 notepad is covered in vintage world atlas. You can choose to receive a lucky dip area or you can email me & i can dig into my map collection for a particular area for you. Each one is individually hand made & not exactly like the one shown.

These Puncs made my day

Mat shared this link to their simple and very utilitarian items:

"When we made these notebooks for an open studio event, we had no idea there was a whole notebook world out there (though we should have, there's an everything-world isn't there). They're simple, letterpress pocket notes that we hand stitch. They've been pretty popular locally, so I threw them up on Etsy. If they're a runaway success, we'll print up some more, probably in a different color, but for now there are maybe a couple hundred of them."
