Exploring an artist's sketchbook

Grateful for this link tip from David Murray to a fascinating Salon article.  An incredible examination of the artist G. W. Mead's sketchbook, purchased bythe article's author 30 years ago.

Project: A Journal with "photo pages"

Here's a cool idea on adding photos to a hand-made notebook:

"When one of us was a wee youngster, she wrote her initials plus Cody Henderson’s in big hearts on every available surface.

On the walls.
On the sidewalk.
On the carpet.

She got in a lot of trouble.

If only she’d known then what she knows now, she’d have made this book instead. A journal with pages made of photos of walls, sidewalks, bathroom mirrors: anything you could write graffiti on in real life...."

We reopen with this  latest news from the Fabriano Boutique in Italy:

"A new arrival in the notebooks series of  Fabriano Boutique dedicated to who loves to capture thoughts, notes, sketches and memories. The collection is composed by the writer's diary, the notebook on the Mount, the notebook's Journey to the Garden which completes the writing and leisure set by Fabriano.

In the pocket-sized 10.5 x15, 5 cm, the writer's diary has a cover with black Imitlin Flanders paper  with excellent persistence against wear and stains. It also has the  Dutch binding to be resistant but flexible. Equipped with elastic closure, black bookmark, colored borders and pocket card holder, the pages inside are in white paper dotted in silver."
