"Every Wednesday at Notebookism we open a "Blank Page" - your chance to ask, answer and discuss anything notebook-related. Keep it nice, keep it relevant."
I'm opening a special Blank Page a day earlier to allow everyone to have their say, leave a comment and share suggestions on how this blog should proceed. The response to this iteration has been great. Rest assured I'm going through each of your letters and carefully considering your suggestions to make Notebookism the cool community it once was. I admit it allowing the site to go on hiatus and on several instances at that, weren't the best decisions I've made, personal considerations notwithstanding. What struck me was the steady trickle of concerned messages that somehow made their way to me, imploring me to go on. Even advertisers offered to place ads while Notebookism was inactive. So here we are, about 2 years since the last post, ready to go for it again. With your help, I have a good feeling we can do this. Once more, thanks for remaining with us. As with Moleskinerie, the community has always been an important inspiration.
Sincerely,
Armand

I admit I'm a skeptic in having doubts that this blog will really continue this time.
I also wonder if it does continue, if it will end up getting sold off-- and ruined-- like Moleskinerie.com. Moleskinerie.com is now a corporate advertising platform, not a community. You mention advertising inquiries here. Is Notebookism headed down a similar path of being sold out/sold off?

I'm optimistic about the possibilities. I think this can be a great community site in the future as it was in the past.
I also think that the concerns about this site being sold off after it gets popular are valid. There will probably be a period where trust needs to be rebuilt, and that will come with time and great content.

I would love to see this site come back to life; I always enjoyed it.
I understand doubt, but why bother? Just don't engage.
Me, I favor optimism.

I'm looking forward to great postings from this site!
Let's not look too far into the future and worry about it being sold off, etc.
Let's enjoy this gift of having Notebookism again, and do our part to make it great again.

The rebuilding of trust is definitely necessary. Yes, we want Notebookism great again, but we don't want our excitement, pageviews, comments, interaction, spreading the word, etc. just to lead this site to get excess advertising and/or sold off like Moleskinerie.com was.
Moleskinerie.com being sold out/sold off shredded our community completely. Few of those once very active remained after that.

I will say... after this site has been silent so long, there are already 5 corporate advertisers on the right hand side. We're on week 1 of the site rebuilding, and there are 5 sponsors so far. That doesn't help make me think this site won't turn into another sold out site.
