I find it interesting to compare an author's handwriting against various writings. In doing so, emotions tend to surface, be they frustration, exhaustion, exhilaration, etc. Moreso, I'm enthralled by the manuscripts of authors, poets, lyricists: it's evidence that their genius did not form out of thin air! They put pen to paper, just like I do! It's all the more gratifying when the work is edited: words are crossed out replaced, the phrasing is rearranged. Such insight into their thoughts is golden.
