Project: A Journal with "photo pages"

Here's a cool idea on adding photos to a hand-made notebook:

"When one of us was a wee youngster, she wrote her initials plus Cody Henderson’s in big hearts on every available surface.

On the walls.
On the sidewalk.
On the carpet.

She got in a lot of trouble.

If only she’d known then what she knows now, she’d have made this book instead. A journal with pages made of photos of walls, sidewalks, bathroom mirrors: anything you could write graffiti on in real life...."

Project: Plans Unfolding

PLANS UNFOLDING is a new software program for creating a pocket-sized paper organizer and planner customized for the layout and content that you want. Choose from among several standard page types supported by the interface, or create custom page designs and share them online. Use background images downloaded from the image gallery or use your own photographs. Print the output on a color printer, make a few folds and one cut, and you have a convenient booklet with every one of its 16 pages accessible.

To-do list holder

A nifty little project from Stephanie Levy's A Little Hut:

"When it comes to lists I'm still more of a pen + paper kind of gal. I needed a little something to keep the small ones more organized. A scrap of linen, a small piece of chip board that I had in my scrap drawer, some ironing and a glue gun was all that I needed to make this to-do list holder. I wanted something firm to write on and compact enough to tuck into a handbag. The sheets I will write on will be index cards or cut down sheets of paper from my recycle stash..."

Hello!

I'm Nikolay Novikov from Moscow, Russia.

While we all here're waiting for Moleskine Moscow citynotebook, I made few steps in this direction and want to introduce my "Moscow roadmap book (atlas) hack".

I bought small (in A6 format) automobile atlas of Moscow.

While maps were printed very good and clear, cover of the book was terrible - wery soft, with bad design, etc.

So I made these small changes.
This took about 3.5 hours of work.

1. New orange hard cover.
2. Plastic cover for multiply path marking.All marks making with marker,
for erase You can use usual paper or cotton wool.
3. Rounded corners.
4. Four color silk stripes as bookmarks.
5. An elastic closure.

Collecting Objects

"We are sending out mini accordion file folders. We want you to take them with you and fill them up with all of your personal objects - including receipts, ticket stubs, lists, Polaroids, or anything else that defines you and your life.

There are objects that connect us all. Everyday things like movie stubs and grocery lists. These objects are personal and say so much about us. We all have a desire to look into another persons personal life. With this project, we want to give you that chance. After we get the accordion folders back, we are going to have a gallery show with all the folders, allowing people to peer into your life... even if it's just a little glimpse..."

Project: Customizing a Journal

Martha (yes, that Martha) has a notebook project for you:)

Made from ordinary composition books, these personalized journals make great kids' crafts and thoughtful gifts -- especially when their covers are designed to inspire their contents. A color photocopy of a flower-shrub glossary graces Martha's gardening journal, but just about any type of sturdy, decorative paper, including maps and wallpaper, can be used. You might create a children's travel diary, a book of baby's firsts, or a baseball-statistics book for your favorite sports enthusiast. As always, make sure that children use a craft knife only under adult supervision.
